U.S. House District 1 (Denver)

Melat Kiros

  • Medicare for All: central to her platform, along with canceling medical debt.

  • Corporate PACs: refuses all corporate PAC money, including AIPAC; says she won't back House leaders who take it.

  • Genocide: has publicly called Gaza a genocide.

  • Israel aid: calls for a full arms embargo, including defensive systems.

  • Iran war: campaign platform is “End All Wars.”

Reason for CMV Position: This is a full endorsement. Melat Kiros is the only congressional candidate in Colorado who meets every one of CMV’s criteria. She supports Medicare for All, refuses corporate PAC money, recognizes the genocide in Gaza, supports ending military aid to Israel, and opposes the war on Iran.

U.S. House District 2 (Boulder, Fort Collins)

  • Medicare for All: Yes. Cosponsor of H.R. 3069.

  • Corporate PACs: Took $182,000 from PACs in Q2 2025. Has previously accepted AIPAC funds.

  • Genocide: Has not gone on record to call it a genocide.

  • Israel aid: Voted for the $26 billion Israel aid package in April 2024 and backed Israel’s defense through 2024. Has not signed on to any bill that restricts weapons transfers to Israel.

  • Iran war: Called the strikes unconstitutional and backed war powers votes.

Reason for CMV Position: This is a Protest vote. This is a safe Democratic seat, so a protest vote here sends a message without risking a Republican win or control of the House.

Reason for CMV position: This is a strategic vote, not an endorsement. Dwayne Romero does not meet all of CMV’s criteria. We recommend voting for him because the incumbent, Jeff Hurd, supports the war on Iran and opposes limits on military aid to Israel, and because defeating Hurd helps Democrats win control of the U.S. House.

Reason for CMV Position: This is a strategic vote, not an endorsement. Eileen Laubacher does not meet all of CMV’s criteria. We recommend voting for her because the incumbent, Lauren Boebert, fails every one of CMV’s criteria, and because defeating Boebert helps Democrats win control of the U.S. House.

U.S. House District 5 (El Paso County/ Colorado Springs)

  • Medicare for All: Calls for a "full overhaul" of health insurance without naming Medicare for All .

  • Israel aid: Says Israel should not get a blank check.

  • Iran war: Says Trump went to war at Netanyahu's request and Congress must reclaim war powers .

Reason for CMV Vote: This is a strategic vote, not an endorsement. Jessica Killin does not meet all of CMV’s criteria. We recommend voting for her because the incumbent, Jeff Crank, supports the war on Iran and opposes limits on military aid to Israel, and because defeating Crank helps Democrats win control of the U.S. House.

  • Iran war: Pushed the September war powers resolution and has forced repeated votes.

Reason for CMV Position: This is a protest vote. Rep. Crow is expected to win reelection, so withholding our vote won’t change the outcome, but it does send a message. Rep. Crow has also refused to engage with the Muslim community despite repeated requests made to him directly.

U.S. House District 7 (Golden, Arvada, Lakewood, Broomfield)

Reason for CMV Position: This is a strategic vote, not an endorsement. Manny Rutinel does not meet all of CMV’s criteria. We recommend voting for him because he opposes the war on Iran, which the incumbent, Gabe Evans, supports. This is one of the closest races in the country, and flipping this seat is critical to Democrats winning control of the U.S. House.
