Endorsement Criteria

How We Arrived at the Endorsements

We sent every candidate, Democrat and Republican, a questionnaire asking where they stand on the issues that matter most to our community and to all Coloradans. Then we went further. We reviewed their track records and talked with political insiders and those engaged at the Capitol. Finally, we weighed each candidate against the following criteria.

  1. Values: Dignity, justice, civil rights

  2. Strategy: Building power for the future

  3. Track record: Votes, bills, conduct

  4. Relationship: Showed up before asking

  5. Accountability: Commits to our asks

  6. Representation: Ties to our community

  7. Policy specificity: Concrete plans

  8. Character: Conduct and our red lines

  9. The alternative: Harm from the opponent

  10. Engagement: Took our process seriously

  11. Movement building: Future cycles

Where a candidate didn’t earn our vote, we are recommending a NO VOTE for that candidate.

That means vote for anyone in that race other than that candidate. You are also welcome to leave that race blank.
